There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) is an awesome song, super fun to sing (when my voice wants to behave) and not as hard to play as you might think.

I got my hands on a copy of this song when my brother got the Eurythmics’ Greatest Hits on vinyl when it came out in 1991. It was one of my faves back then, as now, and I became very good at guiding the needle of the record player to that specific track. The song has one of my favourite chords in it (Fmaj7) which I always have to look at while playing in front of anyone, plus that verse-ending-progression of Cm>Dm>C that’s just, well, heavenly.

Who’s kinda rubbish at both vocal rolls and video lighting? This gal, that’s who. (Lessons re-learned about diffusing light, yo.) Regardless, I’m pretty pleased with how this came out, given that my voice was kinda croaky from a mild cold earlier in the week. You may not be able to hear it, but I felt like there was a froggy in my throat the whole time.
