Advent Calendar December 21st: Deck the Halls

Gosh, singing both parts of this is an (inhale) adventure in (inhale) trying to take big (inhale) breaths whenever you possibly (inhale) get the chance, lest you run out of breath to (inhale) siiiiiiing! Quite an adventure, let me tell you.

Naturally, Deck the Halls is a total classic, referenced in other Christmas songs, and catchy as heck, it’ll have you fa-la-la-ing all the way home.

The lighting’s off (and so is my voice, but hey ho) but I’m cool with it. It was either this or do Step Into Christmas, which I looooove, but really needs to be treated with the proper respect, and have some backing vocals put over it so it really shines. Sadly, because all tonight I was packing for my crimble holidays, I had no time, and since it’d be a waste to do Step Into Christmas in a hurry, it was time to pull out this magical classic instead.

I think that it could be worse, though. (Fa la la la laaaaaaa la laa laa laaa.)

Have fun with it, though, a word to the wise: get a friend to do the other bit, because singing the whole thing at a reasonable(ish) pace is very tricky. I don’t smoke, so my lung capacity is pretty okay, but it was really hard, like singing the song from Portal…
