Chords: Over Yet by Hayley Williams
Since last week was a wartime classic, this week is something shockingly recent: an absolutely boss song by Hayley Williams. I couldn’t find a satisfactory version of the chords online, so I figured these out myself. Come get you the guitar/ ukulele chords for Over Yet…
Over Yet is a) catchy as hell b) has awesome synth-pop production and bass for days and c) loads of layers of sound. My version is stripped-down, to say the least. (Go buy the original, and then put it on your cardio playlist!)
Here’s my Imperfection Project acoustic cover of the song, in which a cat whiffles past at one point and I outright blank him…
Everything went wrong with the recording of this so I was focused as heck, okay? He got lots of fuss and scritches later.
As for the chords, some things to note: in the chorus, the second and 4th G on the record trigger slightly early, but I sure as heck couldn’t play it, and sing, and keep to time, so it’s quantised on the beat for my cover :) Also, you could feasibly play a Bb as the first chord in the bridge, but I liked the progression from Gm7 on uke.
Here’s the chordsheet for if you want to play what I’m playing:
I’m sure you’ll do a much better job than I did.
Love always,
Fay

P.S. I didn’t write this song, Hayley Williams et al did. You can check out the original here:
