Chords: Metadata by Adam Melchor

Metadata.jpg

I sure as heck can’t fingerpick. It’s just not in my DNA. Adam Melchor sure can though, which makes covering Metadata, my fave of his songs, kind of tricky. It means you have to strum either really slow, which kind of kills it, or reallyfastandprobablymessitup.

Come get you my simple chords so you can play this lovely song at your leisure.

The guy who wrote this is really talented, and after I’d already discovered him via Spotify, he then went and supported dodie on her tour. Great minds, hey?

Metadata is a really pretty song, and while I mess up a few times in my Imperfection Project cover, I’ve already forgiven myself (hugs self) and I think it came out pretty neat! The harmonies work nicely, and I decided to bring them in earlier than on the record, because I went with just one main vocal.

Here’s the cover, with a shortened intro to get into it faster:

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Is it just me though or does this song sound like Knock Yourself Out by Jon Brion? (Which I may also do at some point…) Same key, I think, and the instrumentation of the two tracks have a lot in common. Nice job, Adam!

Aaaand here are the simple chords I’m playing:

I’m sure you’ll do a much better job than I did. For reals.

Love always,
Fay

P.S. I didn’t write this, Adam Melchor did. Go buy his original, which you can hear below:
