Original Song: Wounds
I wrote this song about a week or so ago, and since then I’ve had it playing in my head a few times, at random. It's the last non-Christmas song I'm planning on uploading for a while, so...let's do this!
It’s a song that came together within a few minutes, and it just seemed to flow nicely from motif to motif. The thing I spent the most time doing was figuring out which versions of C should be used to create motion between different parts of the song, to be honest.
The Imperfection Project video was another matter.
I started recording when the light was tasty, golden and hitting across where I’m sat…but a bunch of issues with camera placement meant that by the time I was set up and capturing, it was gone. I also lent out my sound recorder, and got it back with all the settings different, then forgot to reset them to the proper settings. Hence the awful hiss. It irks me.
But nobody died, y’know? So the video is a barely-lit cocoon of intimacy. That’s how I’m deciding to see it, because somehow, despite everything going wrong, it came out okay, and it’s still a song that I’m very proud to have written.
