Chords: Calling All The Monsters by China Anne McClain REMIX

I took a DNA test, turns out I'm 100% that witch.

Come get some guitar/ukulele chords for Calling All The Monsters, and watch the totally awesome music video we made while you're at it...

I love Disney more than a person really should. I adore the parks, love the songs, and class Disney Imagineer as a dream job. I don't tend to like Halloween, but a few years ago we went to Disney World in Florida, and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party rather flipped my feelings on it.

See, I can fully enjoy spooky, (or spoopy, depending on how Internet you wanna be about it) but I don't like scary. You can sign me up for skellies, or skellingtons, but not skeletons. I am all in for witches, ghoulies and g-g-g-ghosts, but zombies and horror tropes freak me out. I'm a scaredy-cat who finds some parts of the Haunted Mansion ride a bit full-on. I just have too much empathy. As such, I'll go to Mickey's-Not-So Scary-Halloween Party, but for now I'll give a hard pass on Universal's Halloween Horror Nights.

Calling All The Monsters is spoopy to a tee, and the original artist knocks it out of the park. In prep for our Disney trip years ago we found the song, the music video, and a charming vid (since removed) of the Disney Creeper Crew dancers (those shiny, happy, young people) showing you how to do a dance to it, so you could join them dancing on Main Street, USA.

A couple of years ago, I finally figured out some simple chords for the song, and we set about making a Really Very Silly music video to go alongside my cover. I roped my Kind-Eyed-Boy into the project, and I'm really, really grateful for everything he did – it really wouldn't be the same without him.

And yeah, we reprised the dance.

Here's the Imperfection Project vid (it's really not so scary, though there are some Extremely Realistic Ghosts™ ):

When I first put this song up, it was a bit…lacklustre? It felt fairly thin, and though I was proud of how my first attempts at recording had come together, it didn’t BANG like the original. Now that I’ve done the whole soundtrack to our indie game, I know a lot more than I did then, and this new REMIX feels a lot more like what it would have been. There’s still more to do, but that’ll come with time. Who knows, maybe I’ll just remix this song each year, making it better and better? Though I think the video is still lovely as it is. Either way, I had a lot of fun making props, planning, and filming the thing, too, and as a whole, it hits the spooky, silly beats I was looking to hit.

I'm sure you'll do a much better job, and I hope you have a very Happy Halloween!

Love always,

P.S. I don't own any rights to the song and the original is way better, go buy China Anne McClain's version, and go to Disney – it's great!
